Randomised,controlled,parallel group clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy of isopropyl myristate/cyclomethicone solution against head lice

Head louse infestation is common in the community,with school-aged children being the most frequently affected.Recent studies found infestation in 8.3 per cent of 2,793 children(aged 4-11 years)in Wales,and 8.9% of 6,169 children(aged 2.5-12 years)in Ghent,Belgium.Resistance to insecticides was first observed in head lice in the UK in the early 1990s.It plays an important role in determining the effectiveness of the most popular head louse treatment products.
