The dispensing of parallel imports(PIs)generates heated debate among patients,prescribers and pharmacists.Many people will have come across PIs,but their legal standing is little understood among those who most frequently encounter them.A PI is a legitimately produced medicinal product imported into the UK from another EU member state without the permission of the owner of the intellectual property rights that attach to the product in its country of Origin.
