Government defends the electronic patient record against criticism from MPs

The Government has defended the much-criticised NHS Care Records Service in its response to a House of Commons Health Committee report on the electronic patient record (PJ,22 September,p320) by saying that a number of the committee's suggestions are already being implemented.
