According to data from the Clarksons Research Center, a London-based researcher of the global shipping and shipbuilding market, global shipbuilding industry's backorders stayed at 94.3 million compensated gross tons (CGT) in November this year, a drop of 53.8% from September 2008 when they hit a record high of 215 million CGT, thus getting down to the lowest-ever level since January 2005.
