In response to my World Report1 on the situation in Venezuela, a number of concerns and criticisms were raised. The short report's focus was to explain the effect that the disturbances have had on health services and also the reasons why some doctors and medical students have joined protests. The report did not claim to be a comprehensive analysis of Venezuela's health-care system, nor could it be an in-depth investigation into the present political situation, which would require a far more detailed piece.
