摘要

Computerised tomographic colonography (CTC) has been investigated as a less invasive alternative to colonoscopy for whole colon assessment. In crossover studies, it has been shown to be as accurate as conventional colonoscopy,1 and might be preferred by patients.2 However, any positive or equivocal finding with CTC necessitates referral for colonoscopy, affecting the cost-effectiveness, complication rates, and overall burden associated with this procedure. Before its widespread use can be advocated in diagnostic or screening settings, controlled data on yield, referral rates, and patient acceptance are needed.
