Your Editorial of Jan 2, entitled "Drug development for neglected diseases: pharma's influence", contains gross inaccuracies.First, the document at issue is a report of the Expert Working Group and not of the Intergovernmental Working Group on Public Health, Innovation and Intellectual Property and is within the context of the Global Strategy and Plan of Action. Second, the leaked document on which your Editorial is based was neither a draft of the final report nor the final report itself. It was merely a working analysis for one section of the report, which was not used in preparing the final draft. Third, you state that the draft report "appears wary of UNITAID's proposed patent pool". However, this proposal is indeed among those that have been put forward for further analysis
