The effects of climate change on the environment and on flora and fauna have been well-documented and publicised. At this year's World Health Assembly, WHO's 193 Member States asked the agency to strengthen the evidence base on the human health implications of climate change to help inform policy decisions. Last week, WHO took steps towards fulfilling this request when it convened a meeting of 80 international experts in Madrid, Spain, to decide on a new research agenda for climate change and health.
