Ectopic ureter in an adolescent female presenting with primary nocturnal enuresis and new onset urinary incontinence.

A 12-year-old female with a lifelong history of primary nocturnal enuresis presented with diurnal enuresis associated with activity several months in duration. She was successfully toilet trained at a young age, and had received multiple therapies for nocturnal enuresis without improvement including bed alarms, desmopressin and imipramine. Several months before presentation the patient experienced acute onset of significant leakage predominantly during periods of increased activity (running, soccer, basketball). She denied any leakage at rest or with Valsalva maneuver, and did not experience frequency, urgency, dysuria, hematuria, recurrent urinary tract infections or constipation.
