Nexans published its Q3 2009 sales results and announced that revenues amounted to 1.90 billion US dollars, down by 25 percent y-o-y. At constant metal prices this corresponds to a 19 percent y-o-y organic decrease. For the nine months to September Nexans reported a 17 percent y-o-y organic fall in its cable business, compared to a 16 percent y-o-y contraction experienced in H1. Lower building cable sales in Europe and Asia-Pacific, as well as setbacks in the execution of high voltage contracts affected sales.
