South African coal is apparently finding a niche by returning to its old familiar stomping grounds. While China and India have stayed busy the past couple of years siphoning most of the South African coal business away from Europe, current market dynamics are changing the landscape back to the old days. "We've seen about 10 Richards Bay capes fixed to Europe," a European trader told Inside Coal. "That's now its best home."
