Back-end European-delivered API2 (CIF ARA) thermal coal derivatives extended gains Thursday following positive European gas and power prices despite a mid-afternoon oil slump. Platts assessed year-ahead API2 Cal-13 at $115.25/mt, 45 cents up on-day, after reaching highs of $116/mt during Thursday's trading session.
