Export pricing declined $22/mt week on week, assessed Wednesday at $1,356-$1,378/mt (61.50-62.50 cents/lb) FAS Houston for homopolymer injection grade and at $1,400-$1,422/mt FAS Houston for co-polymer, following talks of weaker feedstocks costs, sources said. Sources pegged rail car trading levels from producers around 59-60 cents/lb for homopolymer product and 61-62 cents/lb for co-polymer, adding that availability of product was marginally higher but only distributors continued to hold product. Sources said the current tight supply and strong domestic demand could lead to another 3-4 cent/lb margin increase by producers in June. Two major producers were heard holding firmly at the 4-cent/lb hike announced earlier, which in such a tight domestic environment left buyers with little choice, a source said.
