Northwest European butadiene prices were assessed at $765/mt FOB ARA Friday, up $15 week on week. In the European domestic markets, the product rose Eur25 in the same period to be assessed at Eur690/mt ($768/mt) FD NWE. No bids or offers were seen in the European spot markets this week but spot prices found support from a sharp rise in Asian prices. In Asia, butadiene market jumped $60/mt on the week to $1,210/mt CFR China as some spot demand was seen from South Korea and Taiwan amid steam cracker turnarounds. NWE European spot prices continued to draw support from the Eur45/mt month-on-month rise in contract prices for June last week.
