The US polypropylene market was heard to be awaiting the settlement in monomer polymer-grade propylene contracts for September to see hikes become official. Virtually every major producer nominated hikes in addition to those expected from proposed monomer increases of as much as 2.5-4 cents/lb. No monomer settlements were heard by time of publication. US PGP last settled for August at 50.50 cents/lb, putting PP homopolymer contracts at just below the 60-cent/lb mark for that month, according to Platts data. Braskem Americas, the largest producer in the US, was heard to have begun including a 5-cent/lb hike in their invoices for September, although this could not be confirmed with the company by time of publication.
