Eni upgrades egypt’s gas field potential

London-Italy’s Eni on Thursday upgraded the resource potential of the Great Nooros Area offshore Egypt to 3 Tcf of gas in place following the results of its latest appraisal well at the Baltim South West field. Egypt, which was forced to begin importing LNG in April 2015 to meet a growing supply- demand gap caused by a major slowdown in domestic gas development, has seen a string of new offshore gas discoveries in recent months.
