Singapore—The growing willingness of Asia to import and process newer grades of crude oil is opening up a window of opportunity for Norway’s Statoil, which expects its oil trading volumes in the region to grow steadily in the coming years, a senior company official said. The firm, which currently supplies crude oil to Asia from its equity interests in West Africa and Latin America and cargoes from the Middle East and the Norwegian continental shelf, is also eyeing higher volumes from third parties, Jens Okland, executive vice president at Statoil, said in an interview Friday.
