India set to start up first SPR in mid-February

Mumbai—India is set to launch operations of its first strategic petroleum reserve facility located in the southeastern coastal city of Visakhapatnam by the middle of this month, an official with Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd, said earlier this week. The facility will be ready to start receiving crude by February 15-16, the ISPRL official said, adding that all the statutory approvals are in place.
