Singapore—Corruption risks remain high in Myanmar’s oil and gas sector and are unlikely to be mitigated significantly even with its recent acceptance as a Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative candidate, consulting firm IHS said Monday. Myanmar was last week accepted as a candidate country to the EITI, the global organization that promotes good management of energy and mineral resources.
