Two FLNG options for PNG’s Pandora gas prospect

Singapore—A new study has yielded two feasible options for a floating LNG project to monetize the stranded Pandora gas field operated by Canada’s Talisman Energy in Papua New Guinea. Project partner Cott Oil and Gas said Monday that the study, conducted by Wison Offshore and Marine, shows two technically and commercially feasible LNG concepts for Pandora. The first is a 1 million mt/year offshore floating LNG vessel with two 500,000 mt/ year liquefaction modules, moored via an external turret. LNG would be sold either on a FOB basis or delivered ex-ship to spot markets. The average total cost for this option, comprising field development and vessel construction is estimated at $1,150-1,350/mt.
