Alberta light oil output set to decline

Calgary-A surge in US shale oil production, pipeline constraints and pricing issues will combine to challenge Alberta’s light oil output this year and next. In the current year, production will be 578,000 b/d, some 2,000 b/d less compared with 2013. Next year, output will decline to 573,000 b/d, said Derek Cummings, spokes- man for Alberta Energy Minister Frank Oberle.
