South Korean refining margins halve in Q3

Seoul-Refining margins for South Korea’s four players halved in the third quarter of 2014, compared with the second quarter, as falls in refined product prices outpaced the retreat in global crude benchmarks, analysts said Wednesday. The country’s refining margin fell to around $3.10/barrel in Q3, from $6.50/barrel in Q2, said Hyundai Securities analyst Baek Young-Chan.
