Petrobras oil output rises 2.7% in August

Rio de Janeiro—Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras continued to push crude oil production higher in August as fresh wells were connected to recently installed offshore platforms and output at subsalt fields set another record. Petrobras’ domestic oil production advanced to 2.105 million b/d in August, up 2.7% from the 2.049 million b/d in July, Petrobras said late Friday. Output was 2.232 million b/d when including oil produced for partners holding stakes in fields operated by Petrobras, the company said.
