London-Chevron said Wednesday it is con- ducting a “rigorous review” of the proposed 250,000-300,000 b/d expansion of its Tengiz project in Kazakhstan amid reports of a big hike in the previously announced $23 billion price tag. Chevron CEO John Watson met Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the Kazakh capital on Monday, but few details of the meeting emerged.
