摘要

Vienna—Eni CEO Paolo Scaroni said Thursday he had held talks with Iranian oil minister Bijan Zanganeh in Vienna following a meeting of OPEC ministers, and that the discussions included potential new Eni activity in the Islamic Republic. On Wednesday, Zanganeh named Eni as one of the international companies he hoped would invest in Iran’s upstream sector once sanctions against the country are lifted. Following last month’s interim six-month deal with world powers over its nuclear program, Iran is looking ahead to what it hopes will be a full lifting of sanctions in 2014, and wants to attract foreign oil companies to help boost upstream oil production.
