Hungary’s MOL imports crude via Croatia

London—Hungary’s MOL has begun efforts to diversify its crude imports away from traditional supplier Russia with the import of its first cargo of crude oil into the Croatian port of Omisalj, for onward supply via the Janafoperated Croatian pipeline network to MOL’s 160,000 b/d Duna refinery in Hungary. Under a new cooperation deal between MOL and Janaf, signed earlier in the summer, the Hungarian company will continue to import crude through Omisalj after the initial four month agreement expires.
