US rig count rises by 2

Houston-The US rig count was 1,748 for the week ended March 28, up by 2 from the prior week, according to Baker Hughes. The latest count includes 1,703 land and 45 offshore, with 389 assigned to gas, 1,354 to oil and 5 to miscellaneous drilling. The rigs were drilling 443 vertical, 206 directional and 1,099 horizontal wells.
