Bapex to get 10% carried interest in offshore blocks

Dhaka, Bangladesh—State-run Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Co., or Bapex, will be given a 10% carried interest in all offshore gas blocks offered in the country’s next licensing round scheduled for October, Petrobangla Chairman Hussain Monsur said September 24. Bangladesh was earlier considering granting Bapex a 20% carried interest but reduced it to 10% after taking into consideration the company’s financial capability.
