Santos revenue up 50%on higher prices, volumes

Sydney—Australian exploration and productioncompany Santos April 19 posted sales revenueof A$754 million ($783 million) for the quar-ter ended March 31, 2012, up 50% from thecorresponding period in 2011 on the back ofhigher oil and gas prices and sales volumes.The company, which is Australia’s third-largest oil and gas producer, pumped 12.4million barrels of oil equivalent in the quarter,up 13% year on year, mainly due to the con-tribution from new projects. Production for theperiod was 6% higher than the 11.7 millionboe recorded in the fourth quarter of 2011.
