Seoul-South Korea's top oil refiner SK Innovation, its subsidiary SK Energy, and five other SK Group affiliates have been fined a total Won 34.6 billion ($30.4 million) for unfairly supporting another group affiliate, the country's antitrust watchdog said July 9. SK Innovation was fined Won 3.7 billion and its wholly owned refining subsidiary, SK Energy, Won 901 million for the irregularities. SK Group affiliates, including top mobile carrier SK Telecom and trader and energy developer SK Networks, were found guilty of paying higher than average service fees to SK C&C, the group's information technology arm, according to the Fair Trade Commission.
