Kuwait City-Kuwait and other Arab oil pro- ducers in the Persian Gulf are working on a contingency plan to ensure that oil exports are not jeopardized by heightening tension in the region, top Kuwait officials said February 13, as Iran again brandished its capacity to rankle markets with threats to shut the Strait of Hormuz. "There is real concern we have here in Kuwait and we have recently revised our emergency plan," Sami al-Rushaid, chairman of the Kuwait Oil Company, told an energy conference in Kuwait City organized by CWC.
