China, Singapore invest in Sabine Pass LNG project

Singapore—Sovereign wealth funds China Investment Corp. and Government of Singapore Investment Corp. have invested in US gas company Cheniere Energy Partners’ Sabine Pass LNG export project as part of a group led by US private equity firm Blackstone, the Financial Times reported August 21. Blackstone is leading a group of investors that includes CIC, GIC and the US state of Louisiana in a $1.5 billion investment in the plant, the report said.
