Amman-Iraq has commissioned a 48-inch diameter crude oil pipeline with nameplate capacity of 1.5 million b/d in the south that will help to boost flow rates to its southern Persian Gulf terminals and free up some 100,000 b/d of oil production currently being held back by export infrastructure constraints, senior Iraqi oil executives said January 9.
