Norway, Denmark, majors look to improve recovery

Copenhagen-Norway and Denmark have joined forces with 10 major oil companies to co-operate a fresh push to use new technology to boost oil and gas recovery from the chalk fields on the Norwegian and Danish continental shelves. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) said October 17 it wanted to cooperate with the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) and the oil companies-including BP, ConocoPhillips, Total, Statoil, Eni and Shell-to improve the recovery rate, which is just 25% because a bulk of Danish oil and gas is trapped in tight chalk formations.
