ConocoPhillips’ NPR-A lease development gets boost

Washington—ConocoPhillips may soon have access to its leases in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska after two US agencies agreed December 5 on a plan to speed the previously denied construction of a road and a pipeline across the Colville River. The Interior Department and the Environmental Protection Agency said they have reached an agreement in principle with ConocoPhillips that should satisfy the environmental concerns of the Army Corps of Engineers. The Corps had previously denied ConocoPhillips a permit to construct a drill pad on its CD-5 discovery.
