Bangkok-Escalating military and diplomatic tension between Thailand and Cambodia has diminished the possibility of reviving talks on the development of potentially rich offshore oil and gas deposits in waters claimed by both. A senior Thai energy ministry official said last week in Bangkok there was no plan to resume discussions on the joint development of the resources in the Gulf of Thailand, echoing a recent statement made by a spokesman for the Cambodian Council of Ministers to the Phnom Penh Post newspaper.
