Houston-The US rig count was 1,738 for the week ended March 25, up by 18 from the prior week, according to Baker Hughes. The latest count includes 1,710 land and 28 offshore, with 880 assigned to gas, 851 to oil and 7 to miscellaneous drilling. The rigs were drilling 519 vertical, 224 directional and 995 horizontal wells.
