South Korea, Colombia ink $10 billion oil-related plan

Seoul-South Korea and Colombia signed a $10 billion package deal September 15 that includes oil development and refinery construction in the South American country, the South Korean energy ministry said in a statement. The goals of the South Korea-Colombia package follow the lines of a plan presented September 14 by Colombia's state-owned oil and natural gas company Ecopetrol to both increase its crude oil production and refocus exports toward Asia, particularly to China and India (ON 9/15).
