Eesti Energia signs oil shale deal with Jordan

Dubai-Estonia's Eesti Energia signed May 11 an agreement with the Jordanian government for the development of part of the Attarat Um Ghudran oil shale deposit in Jordan, the company's first oil shale project outside Estonia. Eesti Energia, operating under its international brand Enefit, signed a memorandum of understanding in 2008 for the development of the deposit, which has estimated oil shale reserves of 2 billion mt.
