Pakistan suspends gas supply to 500 textile mills

Karachi, Pakistan-Pakistan's Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited has suspended gas supply to all textile mills located in the country's Punjab and North West Frontier provinces, causing hefty daily losses for the industry, a local source said. "SNGPL was supplying around 300,000 Mcf/day of gas to 500 textile units, but on Monday [January 11] night, the company stopped supplies, forcing the closure of all the mills in the two provinces," said Gohar Ejaz, chairman of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association, based in Punjab province.
