PetroChina Q1 profit crashes by 35.3% on weak demand

Hong Kong-PetroChina posted net profit of Yuan 18.95 billion ($2.79 billion) for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, down 35.3% from Yuan 29.31 billion a year ago as the global financial crisis put pressure on international oil prices and China's demand for oil and petrochemical products.
