L&T to build hydrogen units at Bhatinda refinery

Singapore-Indian oil engineering services company Larsen & Toubro has secured a contract worth Rupees 7 billion ($140.33 million) to set up two hydrogen generation units at a 180,000 b/d greenfield refinery being set up by HPCL Mittal Energy Limited at Bhatinda in the northern state of Punjab. The hydrogen generation units will have a capacity of 44,000 mt/year each, L&T said November 17. The Guru Gobind Singh refinery is being designed to use straight run naphtha and diesel hydrotreater naphtha as feedstock, and will produce fuel compliant with Euro IV specifications, L&T said.
