China’s January crude import bill soars 58%

Hong Kong—China’s crude procurement bill soared 58.4% year on year to 8.9 billion in January 2008 on the back of a run-up in global markets, despite volumes imported into the mainland inching just 1.8% higher for the month, according to preliminary trade figures released February 18 by the General Adminis tration of Customs.
