Dubai-Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah told world leaders November 15 the oil-rich kingdom was committed to playing its role in ensuring the stability of oil markets while contributing to the global effort to overcome the current financial crisis, official news agency SPA reported. The king, who was addressing world leaders meeting in Washington for a crisis summit, also said Saudi Arabia, the world's biggest oil exporting nation and the largest economy in the Middle East, would proceed with planned investments of $400 billion over the next five years, both in the energy and non-energy sectors, to ensure continued growth in the kingdom.
