Alon offers to buy troubled Mesa crude line

In an effort to ensure crude supply to its refinery at Big Spring,Texas,Israeli-owned refiner Alon USA Energy has offered to buy all or part of the troubled Mesa Pipeline and found at least one owner receptive,Alon CEO Jeff Morris said March 8.But Morris also said Alon will continue to work on contingency plans for handling a decision by Mesa operator Plains Pipeline to close the line by July 1 as uneconomic(ON 1/31).
