India defers decision on petroleum mega complexes

New Delhi-The Indian Cabinet deferred a decision on setting up mega petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals hubs at a meeting held November 9. Instead, the Cabinet directed a powerful panel to formulate rules on some lingering issues before giving its final approval. "The Cabinet has referred the issues to the group of ministers to resolve," Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram told reporters at the conclusion of the meeting. He did not provide details of the outstanding issues.
