Surgutneftegaz faces Kirishi refinery upgrade delay

Moscow-Russia's fourth-largest oil producer,Surgutneftegaz,does not expect to commission a new hydrocracker at its 480,000 b/d Kirishi refinery in northwestern Russia as planned in the first quarter of 2009 because of delays in the delivery of equipment."The company still aims to commission the hydrocracker in 2009" but "we are no longer speaking about the first quarter," a company spokeswoman told Platts."We have had a lot of trouble with the supply of equipment,mainly from the US and Japan,as they have repeatedly broken the agreed timetable for the deliveries," the spokeswoman said,declining to name the suppliers.
