London-VLCC rates for voyages from the Persian Gulf continued to drift lower in the week to August 9.And with bunker prices still at prohibitive levels,the immediate outlook is grim for vessel owners.Single-hull rates from the Persian Gulf to Japan are now below 9/mt,with only a very small premium for double-hull tankers.The main problem for vessel owners is that a large number of vessels are likely to roll over to cover September loadings.
