Asian fuel oil continued to lag gains recorded on crude benchmarks due to an overhang in supply,evidenced by government data.Commercial stockpiles of heavy distillates,which include cracked and straight-run fuel oil and low sulfur waxy residue,rose by 4.97% to 13.287 million barrels in the week ended December 26.A week earlier,stocks were reported at 12.658 million barrels.
