London-Freight rates for refined oil tankers in key shipping markets in Southeast Asia have started to increase after a prolonged period of inactivity,shipping sources said Thursday,with freight costs for Singapore-Japan firming by around 20% since Tuesday.Freight rates for 30,000mt cargoes for Singapore-Japan have increased from Worldscale 160,to w!95,an increase of 2.69/mt to 14.96/mt,for end-April and early May loading.Rates had been steadily decreasing since January 24 after hitting year-highs of w440(33.75/mt ).
